Radar

I can't justify buying a radar detector. But why would i need one? To help in getting away with what I shouldn't be doing anyway?

A few months ago, I got a speeding ticket. I was on my way home from AMPED and I was speeding. I wasn't in a hurry and I wasn't consciously trying to go fast; I just was not paying attention. And that's what I told the Police Officer. Since it was late, there was no traffic and the road was six lanes wide. Nevertheless, it was against the law, so I got a ticket.

I chose the probationary thing where I can't get another ticket in the next 90 days. You'd better believe I am watching my speed these days.

Sometimes I think we want a radar detector in life. We want to skate by, doing whatever we want. But we want to also know when God (or another christian) is watching so we can do the right thing. Many times we think no one is watching and so we can get by with breaking the rules. Silly us.

Or do you ever do this when driving; go about 5 or 10 miles over the speed limit, because surely they won't give you a ticket for 5 over, but you are still technically getting away with speeding. How many times do we push the limit because its not really that bad. It's okay, I'm not legalistic so that does not apply to me. Being a christian is all about freedom, right?

I'm not trying to make you feel bad about your driving, after all, I'm the one with the ticket! But what I am attempting is to get you to pay attention to how you live, no matter how good or bad. Make sure in all things you are doing the right thing.
